HŌKAI TAPUWAE PROGRAMME: Hōkai Tapuwae is a Māori therapeutic cultural intervention designed to support the rehabilitation and reintegration of Māori individuals within the justice system. It strengthens identity through whakapapa, reconnects individuals with te ao Māori, and centres the voices of whānau in the healing process.

MY ROLE:

I collaborated with Māori cultural advisors and programme leads to design a visual identity and series of communication materials that would be used by both programme participants and Justice Sector staff.

IMPACT:

The visual identity and resources helped build trust and understanding around the Hōkai Tapuwae programme, supporting its delivery within prisons and the wider justice context. The materials contributed to more culturally appropriate and human-centred communication across participants.
